When you are looking for the latest news, whether to see who got podded today, or the latest gossip, "The Universe Daily" is there for you. You can always access it by clicking on the NWS button in the menu bar. Within the game the reporters roam about in their invisible ships, reporting on all deaths they see. You an also submit articles to the Newspaper, but remember it's the editors who decide whether your "news" is newsworthy.
